Entertaiment means entertainment, amusement or enjoyment. Entertaiment can be anything from a play to a game to sports, movies, television and other media. Entertainment can also refer to an act of sexual activity between a man and woman.
The word “entertainment” derives from the Middle Latin intertenere, which combines the prefix inter (“inside”) and the suffix tenere (to hold). In other words, it means something that holds you inside, makes you feel euphoric and gives you pleasure. It is an activity understood objectively, communicates with an audience from an external stimulus, offers pleasure and requires the audience’s passive participation.
