Entertaiment

Entertaiment

Entertaiment is the most important thing that you can get, if you want to feel good about your life. Entertaiment makes you laugh and gives your brain a break, to realease seratonin and dopamine. It is also a way of dealing with stress and escaping your daily life, and the social backstabbing and murders that we are all shaped to react deeply to, in order to survive in our world.

Late 15c., “to support, maintain,” from Middle English entretenir, from Latin intertenere, from the prefix inter- (see Inter-) and tenir (from the Indo-European root *ten, meaning to stretch). A common suffix for forming nouns from verb stems, such as amazement, betterment, merriment. It is inserted into Vulgar Latin and Old English verb stems ending in -er (as in commencement, adornment). In Saxon it was inserted with -y in the form of -yment (as in merriment). See also entERTAIN.
