Entertaiment
Entertainment is a powerful force that can bring joy and stimulate learning, but it can also be harmful if not properly regulated. As a result, it’s important for all to be aware of how entertainers can impact our societal needs and to know about the diverse ways that different groups, individuals and foundations contribute to these societal needs in their own unique way.
The word “entertainment” comes from the Medieval Latin intertenere, derived from the prefix inter meaning “inside” and the suffix tenere, based on the Indo-European root ten, meaning to stretch or hold. The term has since evolved to include other forms of visual and artistic expression.
